The jubilant atmosphere was heightened as blue ribbons fluttered down amidst resounding applause!

“After years of anticipation, the Meichu Cup's coveted overall championship has at last returned to NYCu this year, all thanks to the unwavering dedication of our coaching staff and the relentless efforts of every team member,” said President Chi-Hung Lin of NYCU.

“A single game that unites the hearts of over ten thousand faculty and students along with hundreds of thousands of alumni, the Meichu Games stand as an irreplaceable treasure for both institutions,” said Senior Vice President Ta-Sung Lee of NYCU.

The Meichu Games symbolize the friendship between NYCU and NTHU

Since its inception in the 58th year of the Republic of China (1969), the Meichu Games, a spirited competition between Tsing Hua University and Chiao Tung University, has been a hallmark event organized by the student-led "Preparation Committee." This year's edition, known as the "Meichu Games 2024-ChiaChen Meichu (甲辰梅竹)" was graciously hosted by NTHU.

President Lin expressed his heartfelt gratitude: “Following three days of intense rivalry with our esteemed competitors from NTHU, the Meichu Games’ Grand Prize has found its way back to NYCU. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire university community—faculty, students, staff, and alums—for their unwavering support and encouragement to our Meichu heroes. Special appreciation is also owed to the Department of Physical Education, the Office of Student Affairs, and all staff members for their tireless efforts and to the Alumni Association for their invaluable assistance. This hard-earned triumph is a testament to the collective spirit of every member of the NYCU community.”

Campus life is full of excitement and laboring in books and exams. Not to be forgotten are the friendships and comraderies of classmates and teachers that will accompany all alums forever.
